SocietySpeaks.io ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by William Roberts Coaching and Advisory Ltd, a company incorporated in England (company number 15629688). Our platform provides community discussion and collective intelligence gathering powered by Pol.is technology. The platform is hosted on Replit using Google Cloud infrastructure. By using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (the "Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the website.

1. Definitions

• "Platform" means the SocietySpeaks.io website and all related services
• "Discussion Platform" means the Pol.is-powered discussion and collective intelligence features
• "Service" means all services provided through SocietySpeaks.io
• "User", "you", or "your" means any person accessing or using the Platform
• "Content" means any information, text, comments, votes, or other materials submitted to or generated through the Platform
• "Discussion Data" means comments, votes, and interaction patterns within discussions
• "Subscription" means any paid access to premium features of the Platform

2. Discussion Platform Use

2.1 Our platform uses Pol.is technology to enable community discussions and collective intelligence gathering. By participating in discussions, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your contributions will be publicly visible to other users
• Your voting patterns contribute to collective analysis
• Comments and votes cannot be retroactively removed from group analysis
• Discussion data may be used to generate insights and patterns
• Your participation is subject to both these Terms and the underlying Pol.is technology terms

2.2 When participating in discussions, you agree not to:

• Post harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to manipulate or game the discussion system
• Use automated means to submit comments or votes
• Harass or intimidate other participants
• Share misleading or false information

3. Registration and Account

3.1 Eligibility: You must be at least 16 years old to register for an account.

3.2 Account Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and to keep this information up-to-date.

3.3 Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Our Intellectual Property: The platform, including all software, designs, text, and graphics, is owned by William Roberts Coaching and Advisory Ltd or our licensors.

4.2 Your Content: While you retain ownership of content you create, by submitting content to discussions you grant us and other users the right to view, analyze, and interact with that content as part of the collective discussion process.

5. Donations and Payments

5.1 Platform Support: SocietySpeaks.io is supported by donations from our community. Your contributions help us maintain and improve the platform for everyone.

5.2 Supporting the Platform: You can support us in two ways:

• One-time donations to help cover platform costs
• Monthly or annual subscriptions

5.3 Payment Processing:

• All financial transactions are processed securely through Stripe
• Payments are processed in Great British Pounds (GBP)
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled

5.4 Subscription Terms:

• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
• Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period

5.5 Taxes and Fees: All displayed amounts exclude VAT and any applicable taxes. You are responsible for any applicable taxes or fees.

6. Data Processing

6.1 Platform Infrastructure: Our service operates on the following infrastructure:

• Pol.is - Powers our discussion and collective intelligence features
• Replit - Provides platform hosting
• Google Cloud - Provides underlying infrastructure
• Stripe - Processes payments
• Loops.so - Handles email communications

6.2 Data Storage: Your data is primarily stored and processed in the United States through our service providers.

7. Termination

7.1 By You: You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings.

7.2 By Us: We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

• Violation of these Terms
• Abusive behavior in discussions
• Failure to pay subscription fees
• Fraudulent activity

7.3 Effect of Termination: Upon termination:

• Your access to paid features will end
• Your personal account information will be deleted
• Your discussion contributions will remain part of the collective dataset
• You remain liable for any outstanding payments

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service Provided "As Is": The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

8.2 Limitation: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
